Kate Miller-Heidke is an Australian singer-songwriter born on November 16, 1981 in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. She covers such genres as pop, rock and alternative, playing acoustic guitar and piano. She has been interested in music since her childhood and began writing songs at the age of twelve. Her first band was formed in the high school. Later she was a lead singer and songwriter in the Brisbane band Elsewhere, but the band broke up in a year. She released two extended plays independently and singed to Sony in 2006. Since that time, she has released two studio albums, one live album and two EPs and several singles. Her debut album Little Eve was released in 2007 and earned her the first success. The album was certified Gold by ARIA. Her next album Curiouser came out next year and reached the Platinum status.
