Kate Havnevik is a Norwegian pop, alternative and electronic singer from Oslo, Norway, born on October 27, 1975. Havnevik is half-English, half-Norwegian, was studying in Liverpool and later moved to London in order to pursue music career. She is multi-instrumentalist and plays piano, guitar and melodica. In London, she collaborated with such famous artists like Imogen Heap, Madonna, Jem, Britney Spears, Björk, Alanis Morissette and others. She has also co-written many songs with Guy Sigsworth and some of them were included in her debut and the only one album Melankton. The album’s name can be translated as “Black rose”. It was released in 2006 through Continentica Records, Havnevik’s own record label. The album was produced by Guy Sigsworth, Carmen Rizzo and by Kate Havnevik.
