Juan Esteban Aristizábal Vásquez, better known as Juanes was born on August 9, 1972 in Medellín, Antioquia, Colombia. He’s a Colombian rock musician who gained the popularity being the member of the heavy metal band Ekhymosis. He disbanded it in 1998 in order to pursue a solo career. His solo career has become a very successful one. He won 17 Latin Grammy Awards more than any other artist ever. He is one of the best selling Colombian musicians with sales of more than 10 million copies. He’s also known for his humanitarian activism especially for Colombian victims of anti-personnel mines. He has released four studio albums. Un Dia Normal went on 6 x Platinum in the United States and his follow up album Mi Sangre was certified 8 x Platinum.
