John Prine , born on October 10, 1946 in Maywood, Illinois, the United States is an American country/folk singer-songwriter. He began playing guitar at the age of 14 when his brother David taught him how to play. Before beginning a serious music career Prine was working as a postman during five years and served in the American army. During his music career he received the American Music Awads for the Lifetime Achievement in Songwriting and became Artist of the Year in 2005.
