John Doe, birth name John Nommensen Duchac is an American singer, songwriter, poet and actor was born on February 25, 1954 in Decatur, Illinois, the United States. He plays bass guitar and guitar and the genres he performs range from punk rock to folk music. Right now, he performs with his rock-folk-punk band The Knitters. Doe is also the founder of the L.A. punk band X. He is also an actor and filmed in such movies Road House, Roadside Prophets, Vanishing Point, Salvador, Great Balls of Fire!, Boogie Nights and many others. Doe also appeared in the music videos for The Doors' "L.A. Woman" and The Ramones' "Something To Believe In". He has also collaborated with Canadian indie rock band The Sadies on the album Country Club. During his career, he has released eight studio albums.
