Jewel Kilcher is an American singer-songwriter, guitarist, actress and poet, born on May 23, 1974 in Payson, Utah, the United States. She performs in such genres like pop rock, folk, adult contemporary and country. She learnt how to play guitar when she was a student at the Interlochen Arts Academy. At the beginning of her career she was in poverty and lived in a van traveling around the country and performing on the streets. The debut album Pieces of You was released in 1995. The album reached 12 x Platinum status in the U.S. later she released two more very successful albums like Spirit and This Way. The hit singles of that time were "Who Will Save Your Soul”, "You Were Meant For Me", "Foolish Games", "Hands", "Down So Long", "Serve the Ego" and some others.
