American R&B and pop singer-songwriter and actress Janet Jackson (birth name Janet Damita Jo Jackson) was born on on May 16, 1966, in Gary, Indiana, United States. She is the youngest child of the Jackson family of musicians. She first performed on stage with her family beginning at the age of seven, and later started her career as an actress with the variety television series The Jacksons in 1976. At the age of sixteen in 1982, Jackson signed a recording contract with A&M, releasing her self-titled debut album the same year. Janet Jackson achieved mainstream success with her third album, Control (1986), which you may download in mp3 from our site. Five of the album's commercial singles—"What Have You Done for Me Lately", "Nasty", "Control", "When I Think of You", and "Let's Wait Awhile"—peaked within the top five of the Billboard Hot 100.
