Biography: Puerto Rican reggaeton singer and songwriter Ivy Queen (birth name Martha Ivelisse Pesante) was born on March 4, 1972, in Añasco, Puerto Rico. In the early 1990s, she met rapper and producer, DJ Negro. He introduced her to a band called "The Noise". Along with this band, she performed her first self-written song, "Somos Raperos Pero No Delincuentes". She achieved mainstream success as a solo singer in 2004 with her breakthrough album, La Diva, which received platinum certification in the US. It also spawned several singles such as "Babe", "Sangre" (feat. Mexicano), "Tú No Puedes", "Money Making" (feat. Japanese & Gran Omar), "Venganza" and "Bounce" (feat. Bimbo).
