In Extremo (abbreviated also as InEx and IE) is a German medieval metal and folk metal band formed in Berlin, Germany in 1995. The band members are Das letzte Einhorn, Dr. Pymonte, Flex der Biegsame, Yellow Pfeiffer, Der Lange, Der Morgenstern and Die Lutter. The band main feature is re-arrangement and total revision of ancient and medieval ballads. The band sings in many languages including German, Old High German, Middle German, Old French, Latin, Hebrew, Estonian, Swedish, Spanish, Norwegian and Icelandic. The band’s music combines traditional instruments like harp, bagpipes, hurdy-gurdy and shawn with basic rock/metal instruments.
