Canadian folk-rock and celtic-rock band Great Big Sea (also known as GBS) from Newfoundland and Labrador, was formed in 1993. The band comprises Alan Doyle (vocals, guitar, bouzouki, mandolin), Séan McCann (vocals, bodhrán, guitar, tin whistle), Darrell Power (vocals, bass, guitar, bones), and Bob Hallett (vocals, fiddle, accordion, mandolin, concertina, bouzouki, whistles, bagpipes). They achieved mainstream success in 1995 with their breakthrough album, Up, which was certified platinum four times in Canada. It also produced the band's first hit singles such as "Rant & Roar", "Lukey", "The Old Black Rum", "The Chemical Worker's Song (Process Man)" and "Run Runaway".
