Goran Bregovic is a Yugoslav, Bosnian musician, born onMarch 22, 1950 in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, SFR Yugoslavia. He is one of the most world wide known Balkan composers. During his career, he has composed scores for the films by Emir Kusturica (Arizona Dream, Underground, Time of the Gypsies) and for many other movies including Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan, Train de Vie, Turkish Gambit, Mustafa etc. He also wrote music for Iggy Pop and Cesaria Evora among others. His music incorporates different elements from South Slavic and Romani folk mixing them with contemporary popular music and polyphonic music from Balkans. During his career, he was also a band leader and played in such bands like Bijelo Dugme and Kodeksi.
