Ovron Gene Autry, better known as Gene Autry was an American country and western music musician, singer and actor born on September 29, 1907 in Tioga, Texas and died on October 2 1998 in Studio City, California. Autry was also known as The Singing Cowboy featuring different shows on the radio, television and starring in the movies. Besides singing Autry owned television station and several radio stations in Southern California. He was also the owner of the Los Angeles Angels Baseball team. As a singer, Autry is known best of all for his Christmas songs – Here Comes Santa Claus, Frosty the Snowman and the biggest hit is Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.
