Fred Hammond is an American gospel and contemporary Christian and worship singer, bass player and record producer. He was born in 1961 in Detroit, Michigan, the United States. He has released quite a number of album s, namely 24. The debut album I’m Going On was released in 1985. For quite a long period, sales were not very high but the breakthrough happened in 1996 when he released his album The Spirit of David. The album was certified Gold by RIAA. During his career, he was nominated for many times for Grammy Awards, for Dove Awards and he won some of the nominations. He received his first Grammy in 2008 for his album Free to Worship as Best Contemporary R&B Gospel Album. He has also won six Dove Awards and four Stellar Awards.
