American rock and instrumental rock guitarist and recording artist Eric Johnson was born on August 17, 1954, in Austin, Texas. He was born in musical family and when he was only 11, he started playing guitar. Since childhood, he was influenced by such famous artists as Eric Clapton, Chet Atkins, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Wes Montgomery, Jerry Reed, Bob Dylan, and Django Reinhardt. He quickly gained international popularity with his breakthrough debut album, Seven Worlds, which was released in 1978. The album also produced the singles such as "Missing Key", "Alone with You", "I Promise I Will Try", "Winter Came" and "Turn the Page".
