Enigma is a musical project created by Michael Cretu, David Fairstein and Frank Peterson in 1990. The project was founded in Germany, but has been based in Ibiza, Spain. Cretu is both composer and producer and his ex-wife Sandra recorded vocal parties for the first five albums of Enigma. Enigma’s style can be described as a mixture of New Wave, Electronic music, New Age and World Beat. They were among the first ones who used digital workstudio for recording and including non-percussion instruments and vocal parties, like Gregorian monks chants. Right now the projects consists of Michael Cretu, Andru Donalds and of Margarita Roig. Enigma has released seven studio albums. One of the most popular their songs are Sadness (part one), Mea Culpa, Gravity of Love, Return to Innocence, Beyond the Invisible, T.N.T. for the Brain and others.
