Elaine Mary Bickerstaff, better known as Elaine Paige is an English singer and actress, born on March 5, 1948 in Barnet, London, England. She is known mostly for her roles in musical theatre. When she was a teenager she wanted to become professional tennis player. Once upon a time she heard a soundtrack from West End Story and that inspired her to pursue a music career. She reached the success with the role of Eve Peron in Evita and won such awards like Olivier Award - Best Actress in a Musical/Society of West End Theatre Award - Best Actress in a Musical and Variety Club Award - Showbusiness Personality of the Year. She received Officer of the Order of the British Empire and many other awards.
