Drive-By Truckers are an American alternative Southern rock band coming from Athens, Georgia. The band was founded in 1996. The current line-up composes of Mike Cooley – guitar, vocals, bass, Patterson Hood – guitar, vocals, bass, John Neff – guitar, pedal steel guitar, vocals, Brad Morgan – drums, Shonna Tucker – bass, vocals, guitar and Jay Gonzalez – keyboards, vocals. The band founding members are Patterson Hood and Mike Cooley. The band has released 11 albums and one of the most popular their albums is Southern Rock Opera. Originally, it was released in 2001 and was re-released in 2002. The album was praised by the fans and the critics.
