American R&B and doo wop band The Drifters from New York, was formed in 1953. Originally, the group was founded by Clyde McPhatter (former member of the African-American doo wop team Billy Ward & the Dominoes). The band current line-up consists of Terry Pinkney, Ron McPhatter, Chuck Cockerham and Richard Knight Dunbar. In the early 1950, they signed to Atlantic record label and at the same year, they released their debut international hit single, "Money Honey". They are also well known for a collection of their hits including "Money Honey", "There Goes My Baby", "This Magic Moment", "Save The Last Dance For Me", "Some Kind of Wonderful", "Sweets for My Sweet", "Please Stay", "Stranger on the Shore", "Up on the Roof", "On Broadway", "Under the Boardwalk" and "Memories Are Made of This".
