José Plácido Domingo Embil, better known as Placido Domingo is a worldwide known Spanish tenor and conductor, born on 21 January 1941 in Madrid, Spain. When he was 8 years old, his family moved to Mexico where he began his career. He is a dramatic tenor and has a very expressive way of performance. During his career, he has performed 128 parts both on the stage and in studio. He has received incredible number of honors and awards including Ordre national de la Légion d'honneur (France), Orden del Águila Azteca (Mexico), Premio Príncipe de Asturias (Spain), Presidential Medal of Freedom (United States) and many others. He was appointed Order of the British Empire and received nine Grammy and three Latin Grammy Awards. He and two other tenors Luciano Pavarotti and Jose Carreras organized concerts “The Three Tenors”.
