Deepak Chopra is an Indian endocrinologist, lecturer, writer and celebrity born on October 22, 1946 in New Delhi, India. Currently he resides in the United States. He wrote many spiritual books and books about non-traditional medicine. According to him he was highly influenced by Jiddu Krishnamurti, Vedanta and Bhagavad-Gita. He began as a doctor of traditional medicine but ended studying ayurveda and learning how to meditate. In order to promote ayurveda, he left his position at the New England Memorial Hospital and went on to form American Association of Ayurvedic Medicine. In 1986 he published his first book titled Creating Health. In total, he has written more than 45 books. In addition to this he has released several music CDs containing spiritual music, like a Gift of Love, Gift of Love II, Soul of Healing Meditations and Chakra Balancing: Body, Mind and Soul.
