Grammy nominated indie rock band Death Cab for Cutie was formed Bellingham, Washington, US in 1997 by Benjamin Gibbard. Gibbard acted as a solo artist but after the release of his debut demo You Can Play These Songs with Chords, decided to expand his project and recruited a band. The name of the band was taken from the same-titled song by Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band, which was issued in 1967. Now the band’s line-up consists of Ben Gibbard, Chris Walla, Nick Harmer and Jason McGerr. The group rose to fame in 2004. They signed to Atlantic Record and released their album Plans which became Platinum. Soul Meets Body was the first their single which entered the Billboard Hot 100.
