American post-hardcore band Dead Poetic from Dayton, Ohio, was active from 1997 to 2007. The band comprised Brandon Rike (lead vocalist), Zach Miles (lead guitar, back up vocals) and Jesse Sprinkle (drums). Originally, the act was founded by Chad Shellabarger when he was only 13 years old. Later, Zach Miles and Brandon Rike joined the group. In the beginning, they performed at local clubs and bars. Very soon, they achieved their initial success in their hometown. In the middle 1990s, they signed a contract with Solid State Record and started recording their breakthrough debut album, Four Wall Blackmail, which was released in 2002. This work was heavily praised by critics. After this release, they also performed as an opening act for various famous American rock artists. The album's singles were "The Corporate Enthusiast", "A Green Desire" and "Four Wall Blackmail". The album’s lead track, "A Green Desire", reached number 30 on the US Singles Charts.
