Biography: Scottish-American experimental pop music, worldbeat, new wave and alternative rock musician David Byrne was born on May 14, 1952, in Dumbarton, Scotland, UK. He rose to fame as a member of the new wave band Talking Heads. He achieved mainstream success as a solo singer in the early 1980s with his breakthrough debut album, My Life in the Bush of Ghosts, which produced the biggest hit, "The Jezebel Spirit". This album was a huge success. In 2006, it was re-released. He continued his success with the second album, Rei Momo, which was influenced by different styles including merengue, salsa, samba, mambo, cumbia, cha-cha-cha, bomba, and charanga. This album also spawned several singles such as "Independence Day", "Make Believe Mambo", "Call of the Wild", "Dirty Old Town" and "Rose Tattoo".
