American alternative rock and jazz fusion band Dave Matthews Band from Charlottesville, Virginia, was formed in 1991. The band consists of singer-songwriter and guitarist Dave Matthews, bassist Stefan Lessard, violinist Boyd Tinsley, and drummer Carter Beauford. They rose to fame in 1994 with their first album, Under the Table and Dreaming, which spawned their first commercial hits, "What Would You Say" (featuring John Popper on harmonica), "Satellite," and "Ants Marching". The band's follow-up album, Crash (1996), produced their most successful single, "Crash into Me". Other singles from the album were: "Too Much", and "Tripping Billies", "So Much to Say" and "Two Step". This album brought the band national attention. Crash also has been certified 7x platinum.
