American rock band Danzig was formed in Lodi, New Jersey, United States in 1987 by singer/composer Glenn Danzig. This is his third band, before the formation of Danzig, he was the member of horror punk bands The Misfits and Samhain. Glenn met Rick Rubin at The Ritz in new York City where Samhain gave its last concert. Rubin was impressed by Glenn’s vocal and stage abilities and proposed him to sign his record label Def Jam in order to form a band where Danzing’s vocal would be the core part. The original line up of the band consisted of Glenn Danzig, John Christ and of Chuck Biscuits while now the band composes of Glenn Danzig, Tommy Victor, Johnny Kelly and of Steve Zing.
