Damian Robert Nesta Marley, known as Damian Marley and also by his moniker “Junior Gong” was born on July 21, 1978 in Kingston, Jamaica. He is a reggae artist, humanitarian and the youngest son of a reggae legend Bob Marley and son of Cindy Breakspeare, Miss World 1976. His father died when he was only two. He began singing since the age of 13 and released his debut album Mr. Marley in 1996. The breakthrough to the mainstream success happened with his third album Welcome to Jamrock, which was released in 2005. The album received two Grammy Awards in the categories Best Reggae Album and Best Urban/Alternative Performance. Marley is the only Jamaican musician to win two awards during one evening. The album yielded several hit singles like Welcome to Jamrock, Road to Zion (feat. Nas), The Master has Come Back and some others.
