Dagoba is a French industrial and groove metal band from Marseille, France. The band was founded in 2000 by the vocalist Shawter. The other band members are Izakar – guitar, Werther – bass and Frank Costanza – drums. The band quickly found record label – they signed to Enternote Records in 2001. Dagoba emerged on the French metal scene releasing their debut extended play titled Release the Fury. The EP received extremely positive reviews and that allowed the band to continue their career. They released the debut self-titled album in 2003. The album continued their success and the band signed a new contract with EMI France. The album release was followed by a successful tour around Europe. The next album What Hell is About allowed the band to open for such acts like Metallica and to tour with In Flames and Sepultura.
