| Biography: |
Australian alternative rock, power pop and pop rock band Crowded House from Melbourne, was formed in 1985. The band comprises Neil Finn, Nick Seymour, Mark Hart and Matt Sherrod. Originally, Neil Finn and Paul Hester were members of the New Zealand pop and art rock band Split Enz. During the Split Enz farewell tour Enz with a Bang, they decided to form a new band and called it The Mullanes. They quickly signed a contract with Capitol Records. After this deal, they changed the band's name to "Crowded House". They achieved international success in the mid-1980 with their self-titled debut album, which has been certified platinum six times in Australia and one time in the US. It also produced the singles such as "Don't Dream It's Over", “Mean to me", "World Where You Live", and "Now We're Getting Somewhere". This album also reached number 1 on the Australian Kent Music Report Albums Chart and number 12 on the Billboard 200.
