American rock, roots rock, country rock, rock and roll and Southern rock band Creedence Clearwater Revival (simply known as CCR) from El Cerrito, California, was active from 1967 to 1972. The band comprised John Fogerty (lead vocals, lead guitar, harmonica, keyboards, saxophone), Tom Fogerty (rhythm guitar, backing vocals, piano), Stu Cook (bass guitar, backing vocals, keyboards) and Doug Clifford (drums, percussion, backing vocals). They rose to fame in the late 1960s with their debut self-titled album, which was highly praised by critics. Several years later, they released their most commercially successful record, Green River, which has been certified platinum three times in the US.
