Biography:	English alternative rock band Coldplay was formed in 1998, in London, England. The band comprises Chris Martin (lead vocals, keyboards, guitar), Jonny Buckland (lead guitar), Guy Berryman (bass guitar), and Will Champion (drums, backing vocals, other instruments). They achieved worldwide success with their debut album, Parachutes (2000), which was nominated for the Mercury Prize. It produced four hit singles, "Shiver", "Yellow", "Trouble" and "Don't Panic".
