| Biography: |
Cocteau Twins were a Scottish music band formed in Grangemouth, Scotland in 1979. The band was founded by Robin Guthrie (guitar, drum machine) and Will Heggie (bass guitar). Later, they met Elizabeth Fraser who joined the band on vocals. The band was influenced by such acts like Joy Division, The Birthday Party, Sex Pistols, Kate Bush and Siouxsie and the Banshees. The band reached significant popularity and in 1997, they disbanded. As for their musical style, critics called it dream pop. The thing that attracted people was Fraser’s vocal abilities that were shifting sometimes to glossolalia and mouth music. The band’s second album Head over Heels (1983) became a step towards elaborating of their unique sound. The album was a successful one and it followed by European and American tour.
