Christopher Cross, birth name Christopher Charles Geppert is an American singer-songwriter born on May 3, 1951 in San Antonio, Texas, the United States. He rose to fame with his debut album Christopher Cross released in 1980. The album spawned a hit single number one “Sailing” (Billboard Hot 100). Other hit singles included such songs like "Ride Like the Wind", "Never Be the Same", "Say You'll Be Mine". The debut album propelled Cross to the stardom. The album won five Grammy Awards for Record of the Year - "Sailing", Song of the Year - "Sailing", Album of the Year - Christopher Cross, Best New Artist - Christopher Cross and Best Arrangement - "Sailing".
