Christina María Aguilera, an American pop singer and songwriter was born on December 28, 1980 in Staten Island, New York, United States. She began her career in 1990 appeared in the program Star Search and later in The New Mickey Mouse Club together with Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake. She rose to fame as a singer in 1999 with the release of her debut self-titled album Christina Aguilera. The album spawned the hit singles Genie in a Bottle and What a Girl Wants.
