Biography: Chrisette Michele Payne (known better as Chrisette Michele) was born on December 8, 1982 in Central Islip, New York, the US. She is an American R&B, soul and jazz singer-songwriter. At the beginning of her career she collaborated with hip-hop performers and featured on their albums, they are The Game, Jay-Z and Nas. Her debut album "I am" was released in 2007 and four singles were issued. The most popular is "Be OK". She earned Grammy Award for it as Best Urban/Alternative Performance. Her other hits include "If I Have My Way", "Best of Me", "Love Is You". She continued to collaborate with other performers and appeared on The Roots album Rising Down. She also began a US tour together with a soul singer Raheem DeVaughn. In January 2009 the second Michele's album called Epiphany was released. It started from the first position on the Billboard 200.
