American jazz saxophonist Charlie Parker (August 29, 1920 – March 12, 1955) was born in Kansas City, Kansas, U.S. He was also known as Bird, Yardbird and Zoizeau. He is often considered as one of the most popular and influential of jazz and bebop musicians. Since his childhood, he was surrounded by various sounds of classical music. At the age of 11, he began playing the saxophone. He began his music career as a member of the Jay McShann's territory band. During 1930s, this band toured throughout the US attending the most popular nightclubs, especially in Chicago and New York City. In the early 1940s, he left Jay McShann's band and performed with Earl Hines, Dizzy Gillespie, Thelonious Monk, Charlie Christian and Kenny Clarke. As a solo artist, he produced numerous hits such as "Take Five", "Anthropology", "Confirmation", "Miles Davis & Charlie Parker -A Night In Tunisia" and "Crazeology".
