Chan Marshall, birth name Charlyn Marie Marshall and better known under her stage name Cat Power was born January 21, 1972 in Atlanta, Georgia, the U.S. She’s an American singer-songwriter working in such genres as indie rock, indie pop and folk rock. She rose to fame in 2007 when her album The Greatest was named the album of the year. With help of such success she became the first female artists to win Shortlist Music Prize. Performing at the satge Cat Power doesn’t make sometimes breaks between songs and they blend into one another.
