Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, birth name Carla Gilberta Bruni Tedeschi was born on December 23, 1967 in Turin, Italy. She is a naturalized French singer, songwriter and former model, currently she is married to French President Nicolas Sarkozy. Bruni left the model career in 1997 and decided to devote herself to music. Her debut album Quelqu'un m'a dit was released in 2002. The album was produced by her ex-lover Louis Bertignac and received a success in Francophone countries. The album reached number one in France, in Wallonia (French speaking region in Belgium), and charted in Switzerland, Portugal, Italy and in some other countries.
