Biography: English D-beat, grindcore, death metal, melodic death metal and goregrind band Carcass (also known as Disattack) from Liverpool, was formed in 1986. The band's current line-up comprises Jeff Walker (vocals, bass guitar), Bill Steer (lead guitar, backing vocals), Michael Amott (lead guitar) and Daniel Erlandsson (drum). They are often considered as pioneers of the grindcore genre. Under the initial name Disattack they recorded several demos such as Symphonies of Sickness, Flesh Ripping Sonic Tormen, A bomb drops and Heartwork. In the late 1980s, they signed to Earache Records and started recording their debut studio album, Reek of Putrefaction, which was released in 1988. The album's singles were "Genital Grinder", "Regurgitation of Giblets", "Maggot Colony", "Pyosisified (Rotten to the Gore)" and "Carbonized Eyesockets".
