Biography: Calexico is an American rock band formed in Tucson, Arizona, the United States in 1996. The band members are Joey Burns – guitars and vocals, John Convertino – drums and percussion, Paul Niehaus – steel guitar, Jacob Velenzuela - keyboards, trumpet and vibraphone, Martin Wenk - accordion, guitar, synthesizers, trumpet and vibraphone (sometimes harmonica) and Volker Zander – standup bass. The band’s style is difficult to determine, they mix different genres and their music incorporates indie rock, Americana, alternative country, tex-mex and post-punk. During their career the band has released six studio albums and the last one titled Carried to Dust has become the highest-charting their album to date (#98 Billboard 200, #9 Independent Albums, #28 European Albums,UK #55).
