Burt F. Bacharach is an American composer, pianist and singer, born on May 12, 1927 in Kansas City, Missouri, the United States. He is known for a successful partnership with a lyricist Hal David. They created many pop hits especially for Dionne Warwick. The songwriting duo received a success with their song “The Story of My Life” which became a hit number one on the US Country charts. Their next hit was “Magic Moments” which peaked at number 4. In the UK, these consecutive singles reached number one and Bacharach and David became the first songwriting duo to achieve such success. Bacharach wrote songs for many artists including The Beatles (Baby, It’s You), Tom Jones (What’s New, Pussycat), Cialla Black (Alfie), the charity song “That’s What Friends Are For” and many others.
