Broken Social Scene are a Canadian indie rock band formed in 1999 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The band was founded by Kevin Drew and Brendan Canning. The band’s line-up may compose from six till 19 members. All the members play in other groups or have solo projects. Other members include Justin Peroff, Andrew Whiteman, James Shaw, Amy Millan, Bill Priddle and many others. The band’s sound can be described as indie rock, baroque pop, art rock, dream pop, or post-rock. The debut album Feel Good Lost was written and recorded by the founders, however, they decided to extend the band invited the friends from Toronto indie scene. The debut album was not very successful. Only their third self-titled album debuted in charts. It reached number 80 on the UK Albums chart and number 105 on the Billboard 200.
