| Biography: |
Brian Eno, a famous English musician, composer, record producer and singer, is best known as a founder of ambient music. Eno was born on May 15, 1948 in Woodbridge, Suffolk, England. He made his first steps in music career in London in 1971 where he joined a glam/art rock band Roxy Music as a synthesizer player. In 1973, he left the band to start up a solo career. Between 1973 and 1977 four albums of electro pop music were released; the latter of those already bore traces of ambient style. From then on, he pioneered ambient and generative music as well as innovative means of music generation. The wide scope of his endeavors enlisted composing music for TV documentary, performing with art-classic Portsmouth Sinfonia orchestra alongside with creating a large number of ambient electronic and acoustic albums. Eno does not consider himself a musician; he describes his approach to sound modification as “treatments”, and he prefers to separate his style from those of the traditional instrumentalist.
