American alternative dance, electronic and pop band Brazilian Girls from New York City, New York, was formed in 2003. The band comprises Sabina Sciubba, Didi Gutman and Aaron Johnston. The group's lead singer, Sabina Sciubba, is only one member who is from Brazil. They began with the performances in different night clubs. During this time, they wrote many of their songs, which later would appear on their first album. In 2004, they signed to Verve Records. Their self-titled debut album was released in 2005. This album combines different musical styles such as reggae, samba, house and acid jazz. It also produced the band's first hits including "Die Gedanken Sind Frei (Thoughts Are Free)", "All We Have", "Dance Till the Morning Sun" and "Me gustas cuando callas".
