Boney M is a Western German pop and disco group formed by record producer Frank Farian. The original band members were Bobby Farrell (Aruba), Liz Mitchell (Jamaica), Marcia Barrett (Jamaica) and Maizie Williams (Montserrat). Frank Farian experimented with disco sound and recorded his song Baby Do You Wanna Bump? in 1974 using a moniker Boney M taken from then-popular Australian detective show. The song had a huge success and Farian received many offers for a concert. Thus, he recruited a group of singers. The group has released eight studio albums and quite a number of hit singles, which became very popular over the Europe. Some of the most notable songs Boney M songs are Daddy Cool, Sunny, Rasputin, Rivers of Babylon, "Mary's Boy Child - Oh My Lord"and some others.
