Biography: The Black Keys are an American blues-rock and garage rock duo formed in 2001 in Akron, Ohio, the United States. The duo composes of vocalist/guitarist Dan Auerbach and drummer/producer Patrick Carney. The band rose to prominence right after the release of their debut album The Big Come Up (2002) which was praised by the Rolling Stone magazine. Another respectable magazine, namely Time called them one of the 10 best acts of 2003. The band opened for Beck, Radiohead, Devo and toured in Europe with Liam Finn. The band has many fans among popular and well known artists like Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin frontman), Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top), Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood (Radiohead).
