American country, rock and folk music band BeauSoleil from Lafayette, Louisiana, was formed in 1975. The band's current line-up comprises Michael Doucet (fiddle, vocals) and David Doucet (guitar, vocals), Jimmy Breaux (accordion), Billy Ware (percussion), Tommy Alesi (percussion) and Mitchell Reed (bass, fiddle). They emerged on the American folk music scene in the late 1970s with their debut album, The Spirit of Cajun Music, which brought the band a contract with Arhoolie record label. After this deal, they began recording their following album. Michael Doucet with BeauSoleil was released in 1984 and it was praised by critics. They achieved mainstream with their breakthrough album, L' Echo, which produced several singles such as "Chez Denouse McGee", "Bebe Waltz", "Freeman's Zydeco", "Quel Espoir", "La Ville Des Manteau" and "Lizzette La Douce".
