Punjabi folk, bhangra and romantic singer, composer and actor Babbu Mann (birth name Tejinder Singh Maan) was born on March 18, 1975, in Khant, Punjab. Since his childhood, he has been fond of singing and playing music. For the first time, he performed during a local school festival. He was heavily impressed by that event and decided to become an artist. When he was only 16 years old, he started composing music. Later, he began writing lyrics. In the late 1998, he made his debut with his breakthrough album entitled "Sajan Rumal de giya". This work brought a contract with record company to him. He achieved mainstream success in 2009 with his album, Hashar, which yielded several singles, "Thandi Thandi", "Kabaddi Kabaddi", "Bhangra Paun De" and "Dukhrhe Den Layee".
