Swedish melodic death metal band At the Gates from Gothenburg was formed in 1990. The band consists of Tomas Lindberg (vocals), Anders Björler (guitar), Martin Larsson (guitar), Jonas Björler (bass) and Adrian Erlandsson (drums). Originally, the act was created by Tomas Lindberg who previously had been a member of death and black metal band Grotesque. In the early 1990s, they released their debut EP, Gardens of Grief, through the Dolores record label. They achieved mainstream success in the middle 1990s with their most popular and commercially successful album, Terminal Spirit Disease, which produced several singles such as "The Swarm", "Terminal Spirit Disease", "And the World Returned" and "Forever Blind".
