Indian pop, folk and Indian classical music singer Asha Bhosle was born on September 8, 1933, in Sangli, Bombay Presidency, British India. She achieved mainstream success as Bollywood playback singer. During her career, she performed a varied range of songs such as film music, pop, ghazals, traditional Indian Classical music, folk songs, Rabindra Sangeets and Nazrul Geetis among others. She is also well known as one of the most influential South Asian artists. In 2008, she released her most successful compilation album, Precious Platinum, which includes her greatest hits such as "Tum Jo Mile", "Yeh Nazar Jo Jhuk Rahi Hai", "Kamsin Kamsin Main", "Kyun Chalti Hava" and "Tum Vaada Toh Karte Ho".
