As I Lay Dying is an American metalcore band coming from San Diego, California, the United States. It was founded by Tim Lambesis in 2000 and the current line-up consists of Tim Lambesis (lead vocals), Jordan Mancino (drums), Phil Sgrosso (rhythms guitar), Nick Hipa (lead guitar) and of Josh Gilbert (bass guitar, clean vocals). The band has released four studio albums – Beneath the Encasing of Ashes (2001), Frail Words Collapse (2003), Shadows are Security (2005) and the last albums is An Ocean Between Us (2007). The band toured a lot, and they shared the stage with such acts like In Flames, Killswitch Engage, Job for a Cowboy and with many others. They took part on the legendary Ozzfest tour and at Ozzfest where they played together with Ozzy Osbourne himself, Rob Zombie, Megadeath, Iron Maiden. Kerrang magazine named As I Lay Dying the best group on that festival.
